Ace Hardware is seeking friendly cashier team members for its local hardware store. You will handle register transactions, greet customers, and assist with pricing, stocking and bagging merchandise. Training is provided and there are multiple shift times during the week.

We promote a helpful, customer-focused environment at your community Ace Hardware, with opportunities for full-time or part-time positions and ongoing training to build product knowledge and service skills.

Qualificações

• Cashier experience preferred.

• Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and climbing.

Responsabilidades

• Greet customers entering and throughout the store; thank customers by name when possible.
• Balance the register drawer; follow all cash register procedures.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging merchandise.
• Keep the front end neat and clean; rotate stock as seasons change.
• Answer calls and monitor pages promptly; communicate issues to management.
• Help customers with store layout and product location; provide helpful service.

General Summary

The Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Project a positive representation.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.

Register Operations

• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
• Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.
• Participate in store and Cashier meetings.

Front End Appearance and Upkeep

• Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end.
• Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
• Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.
• Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
• Assist with decorating the front end according to the Store Support Center program.
• Call for cart pickups when necessary.
• Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

• Cashier experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.

Several different shift times during the week. Full time & part time available. Some examples of shifts are: Morning shift 7am-3pm, Mid day shift 9am-5pm, Evening Shift 3pm-7pm. These times are subject to change and we try to work with everyone’s schedule when we can.

We are seeking outgoing, friendly, and helpful team members to welcome and assist customers. Previous hardware

experience is a plus but not a requirement as we provide extensive training.
