Retail Cashier

Qualifications

• No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Effective communication skills with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Organizational skills and ability to interact with a diverse team.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Greet and acknowledge customers entering the store, assist on the sales floor, and answer the phone professionally within three rings.
2. Operate the store cash register, handle cash and credit transactions, process discounts, and balance the register.
3. Maintain store cleanliness by stocking, straightening, rotating items, and cleaning surfaces.
4. Coordinate with managers for returns, exchanges, and customer concerns.
5. Ensure store cleanliness standards are met, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
6. Build positive relationships with team members and leadership, fostering cross-team communication.
7. Follow safe work practices and maintain a hazard-free environment.
8. Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
9. Protect agency assets, including cash and donated items, reporting any theft or unauthorized access.
10. Follow all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
