Job summary

Living Spaces seeks a Café Specialist for our Central Houston location. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare and serve food and beverages, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Must be 21+ to handle alcohol and possess relevant certifications.

Experience in fast-paced retail or food service is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience in fast-paced guest-facing environment or related customer service field.
• Proficient experience in Microsoft Office programs.
• Food Handler Permit and Alcohol Beverage Certification required by state/local agencies.

Job description

This role is based at our Central Houston location at 2660 Fountain View Dr, Houston, TX 77057, conveniently located near the Galleria. The Café Specialist will be responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages, while maintaining a clean and safe environment for our Guest and Team Members. Must be 21 years of age or older for this role.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Greet guests in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
• Handle basic food preparation including washing, cutting, and assembling pre-packaged food items
• Ensure proper food storage and rotation of perishable food
• Describe menu items and suggest products to guests
• Serve alcohol, coffee, and non-alcoholic beverages to guest specifications
• Operate cash register and credit card machine
• Follow all food health and safety guidelines and requirements
• Follow procedure to prevent food spoilage and waste
• Stock areas, order supplies, and maintain inventory
• Maintain food preparation tools, including cleaning and disinfecting instruments and equipment before and after use
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces involved in the food handling process, such as counters, and microwave ovens
• Clean up any spills and leaks that may occur
• Cleaning service and seating areas

LS1A Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 1-2 years experience in a fast paced, high traffic, guest facing, interactive retail environment or related customer service field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient experience in Microsoft Office programs.

Certificates and Licenses: Food Handler Permit and Alcohol Beverage Certification as designated by state and local agencies.

Position Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage that Living Spaces expects to pay for the position upon hire. Pay will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, applicable and relevant skills and abilities, market demand, Company budget, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this page at any time.

Compensation: $17.50 - $22.75

Overtime pay is available for eligible, non-exempt Team Members. Reimbursement for expenses as required by applicable law and Company policy. Retail, Guest Services and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
