Job summary

The Wall Street Journal, part of Dow Jones, seeks a bureau chief in New York to lead the retail coverage. You will manage a team of reporters, guide daily coverage, edit stories, and help develop features while ensuring maximum reach across platforms.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of experience managing reporters, strong editing and headline skills, and a track record in financial topics and service journalism, with a focus on accuracy and modern digital storytelling.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience managing reporters at a high level.
• Experience working with reporters or producers to develop ideas and coverage.
• Excellent line editing and headline-writing skills, ideally with a specialty in financial topics and service journalism.
• High standards and an ironclad commitment to accuracy.
• Experience working on digital platforms and new forms of storytelling.
• Coaching skills on and off-deadline, and the ability to keep teams focused and positive.
