Job summary

Raley's in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Bookkeeper who will perform cashier duties and oversee front-end store accounting to maintain accuracy and efficiency in daily operations. You will handle banking procedures, deposits, reconciliations, NSF and bad debts, and assist accounting staff while delivering friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• Bookkeeper responsible for store front-end accounting operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Make effective and objective decisions regarding bookkeeping, purchase and use of office supplies and equipment and other situations where multiple issues must be considered and weighed to maximize the performance, productivity, profitability and results of the store and the store team.
• Answer telephones courteously and route calls or take written messages in accordance with established policies.
• Maintain and reconcile store bookkeeping functions including daily banking procedures, deposits, and cash handling in accordance with policy.
• Daily monitoring of NSF checks and bad debts with postings and notifications.
• Assist in auditing work and respond to company accountants.
• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow team members.
• Engage with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information, providing selling suggestions and a genuine thank you.
• Process cash register transactions, input costs, give change, process checks, EBTs, WIC checks, refunds, coupons and gift certificates.
• Keep office, customer service counter, and check stand clean and tidy.
• All other duties as assigned.
