Summary

Under supervision and guidance of training personnel, accepts and processes transactions from customers by personal contact, mail, and night deposit. Becomes knowledgeable in identifying customer needs, servicing accounts, explaining financial products, and resolving customer issues. Cross-trains to perform retail banking duties, such as opening accounts, establishing direct deposit, opening retirement accounts, and providing quality customer service. This position requires on-site work.

To perform successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  • High school diploma or GED required upon graduation.
  • 1-2 years of post-secondary education and/or experience in cash handling, customer service, banking, or related fields preferred.
  • Position starts as Retail Banker with potential promotion to Retail Banking Specialist.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, typing, 10-key, and internet use required.
  • Willingness to demonstrate Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred.
Hours of Availability

Regularly scheduled hours: 30/week, Monday-Friday 12:00pm-6:00pm, Saturday rotation 8:30am-12:30pm (about 3 per month). Extended hours may be necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes processing deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, issuing cashier’s checks, verifying transactions, balancing cash, handling loan payments, customer communication, promoting bank services, security procedures, currency management, assisting with deposits, completing reports, resolving issues, and maintaining confidentiality. Training involves learning these duties and developing retail banking skills.

Post-Training Development

Building customer profiles, processing debit cards, account maintenance, updating identification, account opening/closing, handling disputes, and executing wire transfers.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
