Goodwill Acadiana in Morgan City, LA is seeking a Store Associate to provide courteous donor and customer service, process donations, and help stock and merchandise the store. The role involves handling cash, balancing drawers, and maintaining store cleanliness and safety.

You will engage with donors to explain the mission and ensure proper procedures are followed, while supporting a team-oriented retail environment.

Responsabilités

• Ensures respectful and efficient customer service to all donors and customers.

• Clear out outside donations at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Educates donors about the Goodwill Acadiana Mission to encourage donations.
• Participates in pricing, displaying and selling store merchandise within established price ranges.
• Stocking and maintaining store interior and exterior in an attractive manner.
• Handle cash register transactions, accept payments, bag purchases and thank customers.
• Multi-task while being attentive to customers and flexible to business needs.
• Ensure proper rotation of merchandise.
• Balance cash receipts, prepare daily deposits, and maintain transaction records.
• Manage loss control by monitoring customers and employees and reporting suspicious activity.
• Maintain a clean and safe store/processing area/donation center.
• Keep dressing rooms neat and reprush merchandise as needed.
• Attend agency meetings including store and retail meetings.
• Demonstrate Role Model Workforce characteristics and community contribution.
• Work as part of a team and take initiative without direct supervision.
• Read, write and communicate effectively with customers and management.
• Answer the telephone promptly and courteously.
• Remain in designated work area during shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Ensures respectful and efficient customer service to all donors and customers. Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service.
• 2. Accomplishes designated production guidelines. Processes all donations according to agency standard.
• 3. Clear out outside donations at the beginning and end of each shift.
• 4. Accept donations while engaging donors through educating them on the Goodwill Acadiana Mission resulting in increased donations.
• 5. Participates in the pricing, displaying and selling of store merchandise within price ranges established by Goodwill management.
• 6. Adequately stocks and maintains interior and exterior of the store in an attractive manner.
• 7. Accurately handle cash register transactions, accepts payments, bag purchases and thank the customer for shopping at Goodwill.
• 8. Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
• 9. Ensures proper rotation of all store merchandise.
• 10. Balance cash register receipts, prepare daily bank deposits and maintain records of store transactions for each business day as required.
• 11. Manages store’s loss control by watching customers and employees and reporting suspicious activity to the Store Manager, Safety Ambassador and/or Director of Safety and Security. Ensures that items are not given away without authorization.
• 12. Ensures a clean and safe environment in the store, processing area and/or donation center by practicing good housekeeping practices.
• 13. Assure dressing rooms are kept in a neat and clean manner, rehanging merchandise and hangers as needed.
• 14. Regular work attendance is required as outlined in Goodwill’s attendance policy. Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• 15. Observes Safety procedures and Personnel policies.
• 16. Attends all regularly scheduled agency meetings to include, but not limited to, store meetings, retail meetings and staff meetings.
• 17. Demonstrates the characteristics of a member of a Role Model Workforce by demonstrating a high level of integrity and understanding of the mission of Goodwill Industries Acadiana. They also seek out opportunities to contribute and improve the community at large.
• 18. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision when appropriate.
• 19. Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management.
• 20. Answer the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner as needed.
• 21. Remain in designated work area throughout assigned shift.
• 22. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
