Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is highly desirable.
• Previous retail or comparable environment experience is preferred.
• Speak and understand English well enough to read materials and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic cash register and handle cash, card, and checks.
• Prepare cash drawers and related paperwork as assigned.
• Receive, price, and rotate stock for retail floor and conduct quality control.
• Operate department equipment and machinery and prepare goods for sale.
• Perform inventories, tallies, or other tracking as required.

What You’ll Do:

As aRetail Associate, you’ll oversee daily store operations, drive sales, and lead a team committed to excellence. You’ll play a key role in supporting our mission to enable employment by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, while committing to sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates electronic cash register, handles cash, charge, and check/voucher transactions.
• Prepares cash drawers and related paperwork as assigned.
• Receives, prepares, sorts, prices, and rotates stock for retail floor and conducts quality control.
• Operates department equipment and machinery, prepares goods for sale, procession, or storage.
• Performs inventories, tallies, or other forms of tracking as required for the retail environment.
• Assists GoodWorks staff with implementation of work plans and guidelines as established for client programs, as assigned by store manager.

Education and Experience:

Experience that would lend itself to good customer service is highly desirable.

Previous experience in a retail or comparable environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

Medium physical demand level

While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Frequently required to walk and/or stands for up to 8 hours per day.

Must regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to push/pull and carry up to 30 pounds. Kneels, stoops, and bends frequently.

Occasional need to push heavy, wheeled carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material handling equipment with loads weighing up to 250 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled space. May occasionally perform work in outside weather conditions.
