Job summary

Tobacco Hut York 1 Inc. is seeking a friendly Retail Associate/Cashier to be the face of our store, delivering excellent customer service and accurate transactions. You'll develop product knowledge across cigars, vaporizers, and accessories and help maintain a clean, welcoming storefront.

Ideal candidates are reliable, personable, and able to stand for extended periods, work evenings/weekends/holidays, and verify IDs for age-restricted products while keeping shelves stocked and fronted.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse customer base.
• Ability to handle currency and make change quickly and accurately.
• Willingness to learn about tobacco products, brands, and industry trends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., boxes of inventory).
• Reliability: dependable transportation and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide expert recommendations.
• Operate the POS system to process cash, credit, and mobile payments accurately.
• Verify IDs for all age-restricted products.
• Assist with receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and ensuring products are properly fronted and priced.
• Maintain a clean and inviting storefront and humidor.
• Stay alert to store activity to minimize shrinkage and ensure a safe shopping environment.
