Job summary

Eataly in New York is seeking a Front End Sales Associate/Cashier to process payments, manage tills, and support daily store operations.

You will handle cash, checks, and card payments, verify till accuracy at shift end, apply price changes, and assist with stock and displays.

This on-site role offers opportunities to learn about Italian cuisine and products while delivering excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math and cash handling.
• Experience with POS terminals and cash registers.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects cash, checks or card payments from guests and provides change.
• Verifies end-of-shift cash bank accuracy.
• Reviews information on price changes.
• Verifies discounts, returns, exchanges and voids with a supervisor.
• Restocks displays, returns carts, and assists team members.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Description

A Front End Sales Associate/Cashier handles payments and ensures accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements. Reports to the Market Manager and Assistant Marketing Managers.

• Collects cash, checks or charge payments from guests and provides change and charge vouchers if appropriate
• Verifies accuracy of cash bank by counting cash, checks and charge payments at end of shift
• Obtains and reviews information regarding price changes
• Verifies employee discounts, returns, exchanges and voids with the assistance of the manager or shift lead
• Returns carts and baskets to their central distribution areas, takes back go-backs/damages, fixes displays, helps restock, and supports team members
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Basic knowledge of the functions of cash registers
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

• Ability to remain stationary for periods of up to 8 hours
• Ability to bend and stoop on occasion
• Ability to escort guests to other parts of the facility as circumstances dictate

Compensation: This position pays a base rate of $17-$19
