Job summary

Dollar General seeks a friendly store associate to be the primary point of contact for customers, assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and merchandising programs, stock merchandise, and support teamwork while protecting assets.

You will unload trucks, stock and rotate shelves, greet customers, operate the cash register, and assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners; maintain store cleanliness and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build and stock merchandise displays; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean store front, back rooms, and restrooms; maintain store cleanliness.
