Job summary

The United States Department of Defense's Defense Commissary Agency is seeking Store Associates who will work in a commissary store, performing duties such as handling, preparing, stocking groceries and produce, and checking out customer purchases.

Applicants must meet the OPM qualifications for series 1101, with one year of progressively responsible clerical or related experience or two years of education.

Qualifications

• 1 year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position (general experience).
• Two (2) full years of education above high school. Transcripts are required if relying on education, in whole or in part, to qualify.
• Combination of experience and education credits relevant experience and education per formula.
• Physical requirements include standing, lifting up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Handle, prepare, stock grocery and produce items.
• Check-out customer purchases.
• Work independently or as part of a team in any assigned retail area of a commissary store.
