Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer information into a smart device, thank donors.
  • Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items; sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other merchandise.
  • Cashiering: conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions with proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and payments.
  • Cleaning duties: bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and counters; report maintenance needs.
  • Customer service activities: assist customers, price merchandise, assist with fitting rooms, offer recycling bags, explain store operations, and use sales techniques to enhance store image.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Summary

Customer service, sales, cashiering, stocking, sorting, inventory management, sizing, color coordination, and cleaning activities in a retail store.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
  • Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
  • Cashiering: Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
  • Cleaning duties (including but not limited to) bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
  • Customer service activities (including but not limited to) customer assistance, pricing merchandise, fitting room, offering recycling bags, explaining store operations, and other sales techniques that may enhance the store’s sales and community image.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Physical Demands
