Summary

Works under the direction of the Retail Management team in carrying out all retail operations in the store, including, but not limited to, register operations, customer service, store appearance and displays, and employee interactions.

Essential Functions

1. Assist the Retail Management team in register transactions, including handling cash, checks, credit card payments, and non-cash purchases, ensuring accuracy and security.
2. Work with the team to establish and maintain customer service standards, ensuring compliance with NLB Thrift Stores’ Mission Statement and providing a pleasant shopping experience.
3. Maintain the physical appearance of the store, including restocking supplies, removing safety hazards, cleaning, and ensuring safety and health standards.
4. Assist in stocking shelves and clothing racks to maximize shopping opportunities for customers.
5. Help set up or change store displays under the direction of the Retail Management team to enhance the shopping environment.
6. Communicate daily about customer service issues, register errors, employee issues, accidents, and store operations to the manager, ensuring proper handling per company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a pleasant attitude.
• Experience in retail operations preferred.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and proficiency in English.
• Excellent math and money handling skills.
• Commitment to NLB Thrift Stores’ Mission.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written or oral form.
• Ability to operate cash registers and credit card machines.
• Proficiency with office machines like copiers, fax, scanners.

Physical Requirements
