General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures a positive shopping experience for customers by greeting them courteously, maintaining a clean work environment, and presenting merchandise properly. They perform various tasks across store areas as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
• Create a secure shopping environment, maintain clear egress, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect; recognize fellow team members.
• Assist customers with merchandise, operate registers, and handle questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Respond promptly to customer service needs and escalate issues when necessary.
• Represent the company brand positively at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks regularly to maintain store cleanliness.
• Maintain a professional appearance per dress code.
• Organize and recover merchandise to ensure a neat store appearance.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor efficiently, following presentation standards.
• Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle transactions accurately.
• Follow all policies regarding stock management and cash handling.
• Maximize productivity through efficient work practices.

Qualifications And Skills

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Ability to operate store equipment.
• Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting over 25 pounds.
• Work with janitorial and store equipment as needed.
• Stockroom associates must lift over 20 pounds regularly.
