Responsibilities

• Set up signs, displays, and arrange merchandise to attract customers and promote sales.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers and maintain a clean, organized store.
• Maintain register balances and prevent unauthorized removal of merchandise.
• Transport items to and from the sales floor as needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Maximize sales in retail store by assisting customers andsatisfying their request whenever possible.Fill store-staffing requirements as needed.Accepts payment for purchases, presort andprocess donated goods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs all day to day operational functions of the store(i.e. run register, verify checks, stocking shelves/counter/tables, hanggarments, sale of merchandise, rotation of goods).
• Sets up advertising signs and displays or arrangesmerchandise on counters, tables or shelves to attract customers and promotesales.
• Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receivesmerchandise selected by customer.
• Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, anduse of merchandise.
• Provide customers and donors with excellent customerservice.
• Responsible for clerk/cashiering duties as assigned andoperating the cash register, which includes sales transactions, payments,refunds, and end of day register processing.
• Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
• Accountable for proper register balances and for anyunauthorized removal of any merchandise from the store.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area, as well as merchandiseon the floor.
• Stock, straighten and clean the sales floor which includestextiles and hard lines.
• Stocks storage areas and displays with new or transferredmerchandise.
• Remove empty hangers and outdated merchandise according torotation schedule.
• Remove clothes from dressing rooms and re-hang if necessary.
• Answer telephone and provide announcements over store pagingsystem as needed.
• Transport items to and from sales floor.
• Continually support the agency safety program and contributeto customer and employee safety.
• Accomplishes retail and organization mission by completingrelated assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
