Job summary

ARCTARIS SADDLEBACK SKI OPERATIONS LLC is seeking a Retail Associate for Rangeley, ME for the 2026/27 winter season. The role supports both full-time and part-time schedules in a seasonal capacity. You will assist customers with product knowledge, manage transactions, and keep the store organized.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail. Training covers merchandise across brands and Saddleback Mountain knowledge to answer questions and boost sales.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Attention to detail and accurate handling of money and registers.
• Retail or sales experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide current and accurate information about merchandise for all brands in the shop.
• Manage cash drawer and oversee transactions.
• Demonstrate merchandise and suggest options for customer needs.
• Develop knowledge of Saddleback Mountain to answer questions about the mountain and activities.
• Maintain a positive, cheerful attitude at all times.
• Work independently and multi-task while greeting guests promptly.
• Build rapport with customers to encourage repeat visits and sales.
• Maintain inventory and restock merchandise.
• Reorganize and move merchandise as needed.
• Keep store and work area clean and organized.

This role is for Winter 2026/2027. Both full-time and part-time roles are available.

Basic Function and Overview: The Retail Sales Associate's responsibility is to make a life-long customer, not just a sale. Providing product knowledge to the customer allowing them to make a series of buying decisions which are mutually beneficial to the customer, and the store. Selling responsibilities include keeping merchandise folded and stocked neatly, while maintaining a clean work environment.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Give current and accurate information about the merchandise for all brands carried in the shop.
• Responsible for cash drawer and overseeing transactions.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs.
• Develop strong knowledge of Saddleback Mountain to be able to answer questions regarding the mountain and other activities.
• Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude at all times.
• Must be able to work independently and multi-task while greeting guests promptly as they enter the store.
• Build rapport with customers to keep them coming back and increase sales.
• Must maintain store inventory and restock merchandise.
• Re-organize and move merchandise around as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized store and work area.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong communication skills.

• Pay attention to detail and be accurate with money usage and register use.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A worker's permit may be applicable.
• Retail or sales experience preferred but not necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in order to stock and move inventory.
• Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
