General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and will perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed. Additional tasks may be assigned to help achieve our Customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Understand and practice safety as the number one priority.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment, keep egress clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy. Recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably, and greet all Customers regularly.
• Respond promptly to Customer needs and issues, calling Store Leadership when necessary.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
• Ensure the store is neat, clean, and well-merchandised through daily recovery tasks.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor and maintain familiarity with products to assist Customers.
• Understand Loss Prevention policies and standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle cash and merchandise responsibly.
• Follow all policies regarding stock management, cash handling, and transactions.
• Perform tasks efficiently, maximizing productivity and minimizing steps.

Qualifications And Skills

• Ability to communicate courteously with Customers, Associates, and Leadership.

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Use of all Store equipment, including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds, especially for Stockroom shifts.
• Use of janitorial and store equipment as needed.
