General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers courteously, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing various tasks across store areas based on business needs. Additional tasks may be assigned to support customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining awareness on the sales floor.
• Create a safe shopping environment by keeping aisles clear and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Show respect and courtesy to all customers and associates, recognizing fellow team members.
• Assist customers with merchandise, operate registers, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Respond promptly to customer service needs and escalate issues when necessary.
• Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Maintain store organization through regular recovery and merchandising according to guidelines.
• Expedite receipt of new merchandise and ensure proper presentation to customers.
• Understand loss prevention policies and protect merchandise.
• Follow policies for cash handling, refunds, and transactions accurately.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity and uphold store standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of time standing, walking, and moving.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and lift over 25 pounds as needed.
• Specific requirements for stockroom shifts include lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
