General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers courteously, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and performs various tasks across the store as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
• Create a safe shopping environment by maintaining awareness on the sales floor and ensuring clear egress to emergency exits.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers and recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and handle transactions courteously and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to Customer Service calls and resolve issues courteously, escalating to Store Leadership when necessary.
• Support the Company brand and represent it positively.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment.
• Adhere to the company's dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Execute daily merchandising and recovery tasks to keep the store organized and presentable.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor, ensuring proper presentation and familiarity with products to assist customers.
• Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle cash and merchandise responsibly.
• Follow all policies regarding stock, transactions, and cash handling.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity and follow store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Basic mathematical skills used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Ability to use store equipment, including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Ability to lift over 25 pounds occasionally.
• Use of janitorial and store equipment as needed.
• Stockroom shifts require lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
