General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them courteously, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. The role involves performing various tasks across store areas as needed, supporting customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment, keep exits clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow associates.
• Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions politely, and greet customers regularly.
• Respond promptly to customer service needs and escalate issues when necessary.
• Support the company's brand and perform cleaning tasks to maintain store cleanliness.
• Adhere to dress code and appearance standards.
• Perform daily merchandising and recovery tasks to keep the store organized.
• Speedily process new merchandise and maintain familiarity with departmental products.
• Understand loss prevention policies and safeguard confidential information.
• Follow policies regarding stock disposal and cash handling with accuracy and integrity.
• Work efficiently, maximizing productivity and minimizing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly manner.

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of the time standing, walking, and moving around.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Ability to lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
• For stockroom shifts, ability to lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
