General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed. Additional tasks may be assigned to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Understand and practice safety as the number one priority.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment, keep egress clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and greet them throughout the store.
• Respond promptly to Customer needs and issues, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Perform daily merchandising and recovery tasks to keep the store organized and appealing.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor, ensuring proper presentation.
• Follow Loss Prevention policies and safeguard confidential information.
• Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, following all policies.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and maximize productivity.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Ability to use all Store equipment as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift over 25 pounds.
• Use of janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and supplies.
• Specific requirements for Stockroom shifts include lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
