Role
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Retail Associate is responsible for the successful operation of the sales floor, including customer service, maintaining full racks, cashiering, and working with flexibility at the direction of the Retail Supervisor. Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, excellent customer service to ensure a great shopping experience.
- Engage customers to enhance their shopping experience and deter theft.
- Assist with merchandising, replenishing stock, monitoring fitting rooms, and transporting merchandise.
- Understand our products, promotions, and sales strategies to improve retail sales.
- Maintain a neat work area and overall store cleanliness.
- Understand CommunityAid’s sales and marketing methods, including floor layout and tagging system.
- Respond flexibly to store needs, including answering questions, assisting with store opening/closing, and other tasks as assigned.
- Report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Operate cash register accurately and efficiently following company guidelines.
- Follow CommunityAid’s policies and standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Retail experience helpful but not mandatory.
- Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Basic math skills.
- Consistent attendance and adherence to weekly hours based on employment status.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry 21-35 pounds.
- Occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.
- Push and pull up to 20 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods.
