General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate performs a range of functions across store areas as needed and may be asked to perform additional tasks to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors at all times.
• Maintain a safe shopping environment by keeping the sales floor clutter-free, clear emergency exits, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Show respect and courtesy to all Customers and Associates; recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions politely, and greet customers throughout the store.
• Respond promptly to Customer inquiries and issues, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
• Support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Ensure store appearance through daily sizing and recovery, merchandising received merchandise promptly, and maintain familiarity with products.
• Follow Loss Prevention policies and protect merchandise and confidential information.
• Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, following all policies.
• Work with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Skills

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly manner.
• Basic math skills for retail transactions.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Use of all Store equipment, including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting over 25 pounds.
• Use of janitorial and store equipment as needed.
• Specific requirements for Stockroom shifts include lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
