General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and will perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed. Additional tasks may be assigned to help achieve our Customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment. Keep aisles clear and report unsafe conditions.
- Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional. Recognize fellow Associates using company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers by providing excellent service, including register training, helping with merchandise, and answering questions politely and knowledgeably. Greet customers with eye contact, smiles, and greetings throughout the store, and say "thank you" at checkout.
- Respond promptly to Customer Service calls and handle issues courteously, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas to maintain cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Ensure the store is neat, clean, and organized through daily recovery and merchandising practices.
- Expedite the processing of received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items per company guidelines and maintaining product knowledge to assist customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention policies, including merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow all policies regarding stock management, cash handling, and transactions accurately.
- Work efficiently to maximize productivity, executing store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications And Skills
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Basic mathematical skills for retail operations.
Physical Requirements/ADA
- Ability to use store equipment including registers and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Ability to lift and carry over 25 pounds occasionally.
- Use of janitorial and store equipment as required.
- Stockroom shifts require lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
