ABOUT THE POSITION

From ensuring product availability on the sales floor to creating eye-catching visual displays to addressing customer inquiries to running an efficient checkout process, our associates create memorable customer experiences while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

As a Retail Associate, you will represent our company, brands, and products to our consumers. You will serve customers and share product information to help them find suitable products. Retail associates support the flow of products into the store and onto the sales floor, ensuring product representation and accessibility. You will contribute to store profitability through accurate and efficient process execution and support the Store Leadership team in our mission.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Maintain store and visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards; restock merchandise from inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges) accurately; connect customers to loyalty programs.
• Assist in store profitability by processing incoming and outgoing products efficiently.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; understand their needs and assist with buying decisions. Uphold Columbia’s values to enhance customer experience and teamwork.
• Learn about products, policies, procedures, and programs to execute daily operations effectively.

YOU HAVE

• No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 2 or fewer years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in customer service
• Skill operating inventory and POS systems and retail software
• Age 16 or older

JOB CONDITIONS

• Active environment requiring movement; may involve lifting up to 40 lbs., using equipment, exposure to dust and noise.
• Occasional work in various settings.
• Clear communication skills.
• Flexible schedule, adaptable to seasonal and business needs, complying with legal requirements.
