General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate performs a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed, and may be requested to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment, keep exits clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional. Recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers by being register-trained, helping with merchandise, and answering questions politely and knowledgeably. Greet customers throughout the store and thank them at checkout.
• Respond promptly to Customer service calls and issues, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting high-touch areas, and replenishing restroom supplies.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
• Perform daily merchandising and recovery to keep the store organized and well-presented.
• Expedite receipt of new merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising according to guidelines and maintaining product knowledge to assist Customers.
• Understand and follow Loss Prevention policies, including merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
• Follow policies for handling stock, disposals, and transactions accurately.
• Work with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and adhere to store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Ability to use Store equipment, including registers and PCs.
• Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Push, pull, and lift over 25 pounds occasionally.
• Use janitorial and stocking equipment as needed.
• Stockroom shifts require the ability to lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
