General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers courteously, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and performs various store functions as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

1. Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
2. Create a safe shopping environment by maintaining awareness and reporting unsafe conditions.
3. Greet all customers warmly, assist with merchandise, and respond to inquiries professionally.
4. Handle customer issues courteously, escalate when necessary.
5. Represent and support the Ross brand consistently.
6. Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks regularly to ensure store cleanliness.
7. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
8. Ensure merchandise is well-organized and replenished promptly.
9. Assist with merchandise receipts and presentation following company standards.
10. Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
11. Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle transactions accurately.
12. Work efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication with customers, team members, and leadership.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of time standing and moving.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly, more for stockroom shifts.
