General Purpose:

The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers courteously, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing various tasks in all store areas as needed. Additional tasks may be assigned to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions:

• Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
• Maintain awareness for a safe shopping environment, keep exits clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow associates.
• Assist customers with merchandise, operate registers, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and issues, involving management when necessary.
• Support the company brand and values at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain store cleanliness and hygiene.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Ensure merchandise is organized, clean, and well-presented, including receiving and merchandising new stock.
• Understand loss prevention policies and safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
• Follow policies concerning cash handling, refunds, and transaction accuracy.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Effective communication with customers, colleagues, and leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Basic math skills applicable in retail settings.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to operate store equipment, including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of the shift.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and lift over 25 pounds as needed.
• For stockroom shifts, ability to lift over 20 pounds regularly.
