Job Summary:

The Brewery Store Retail Associate works in the brewery store at our Venice Beach location, which offers an array of branded merchandise as well as our full catalogue of packaged beer for purchase. The Brewery Store Retail Associate provides a welcoming and educational experience to guests with the ability to impart knowledge of brewing, products, and beer in general. In addition, they must have a basic understanding of retail merchandising principles, display building, and color theory. The Brewery Store Associate is a conduit for education and enjoyable atmosphere that employs the “Destination Venice” theme, but above all ensures an excellent customer experience.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

• Provide inventory management using our POS system to include planning and stocking
• Complete front and back-end operations
• Provide excellent customer service including educating and informing customers on our beer history and products for sale
• Maintain a working knowledge of beer and brewing in general and specifically knowledge of Firestone Walker’s beers
• Intake and organize merchandise and beer deliveries including donation orders, sales samples, and event beer.
• Greet each customer as they enter the Brewery Store
• Create a fun, high energy environment and make customers feel welcome and relaxed
• Maintain order and cleanliness at all times
• Follow and enforce all ABC laws
• Fill growlers as needed for customers and ensure they are filled properly and efficiently
• Process cash and credit card transactions through POS system
• Reconcile the cash/credit drawer at the end of the day
• Complete opening and closing tasks correctly and efficiently
• Constantly straighten retail items so they appear atheistically appealing to the customer
• Stock and replenish retail items including beer and merchandise
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and prior experience in retail and customer service
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Must be at least 21 years old
• California Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) training must be completed within 60 days of hire
• Strong sales, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to give high priority to customer satisfaction
• Ability to take initiative, act promptly and be proactive
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information
• Ability to work individually and as a team
• Ability to resolve conflict
• Ability to evaluate and reassess priorities daily
• Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge focusing on Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Strong data entry skills
