Job summary

Family Dollar in Fairview, West Virginia is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with opening and closing, merchandising, scheduling, payroll, loss prevention, and maintaining clean, organized spaces while upholding company policies and standards. This part-time leadership role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to coach store associates to deliver friendly, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Retail/store management experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., frequent walking and standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; adhere to directives.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays; ensure store appearance.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash; follow safety guidelines.
• Coach and develop Store Associates; maintain a positive environment.
