Summary
Assists the Store/Facility Manager in managing and operating a retail store, donation processing center, and/or warehouse operations. Provides exceptional customer service through the efficient management of store associates, donations, processing, stock rotation, inventory, and sales. Properly maintains the appearance of the facility and merchandise to encourage shoppers in support of our mission-related services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Donation and Facility Management: Enthusiastically receives donations from donors utilizing GRATIS (Greet, Receipt, Assist, Thank, Invite Back, Sort). Maintains a clean work environment. Coordinates shipments and makes adjustments to merchandise categories and production schedules as needed. Ensures merchandise is priced according to established standards. Implements seasonal planograms, floor sets, signage, and sales promotions. Optimizes floor space based on product flow.
- Training and Leadership: Trains team members during onboarding, setting a positive example. Recognizes when coaching is needed and provides immediate guidance. Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of or at the direction of the Store Manager. Performs all supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisals, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Customer Service and Security: Issues refunds, resolves customer concerns, and reports security or theft issues. Demonstrates mastery in production and customer service management through evaluation. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety standards, maintaining standards to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory requirements.
- Administrative Duties: Completes opening/closing duties, makes bank deposits, secures the building, and performs other clerical tasks as directed. Ensures compliance with safety, security, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Verifies quality and quantity of merchandise, coordinates shipments, and reports on a daily basis. Ensures merchandise is correctly priced and implements promotional activities.
- Operational Responsibilities: Assists truck drivers and personnel, responds to emergencies, and performs other related duties. Works flexible hours, including opening and closing the retail location, making deposits, and securing the premises.
