Job summary

Dollar General Opelousas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, help merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and assist with deposits to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will lead customer service, train employees, schedule shifts, manage stock, and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance; ensure displays follow established practices.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, and cash control procedures.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
