Job summary

Hibbett, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all store operations and administration. The role requires knowledge of product areas and a passion for outstanding customer service, while promoting merchandise and maintaining store standards.

The Assistant Manager will assume supervisory duties in the Store Manager’s absence and participate in staffing, training, and performance evaluation to help achieve store goals and profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and meet goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative.
• Strong attention to detail with multitasking.
• Team-player with passion for customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Help establish action plans to accomplish store responsibilities (selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, scheduling).
• Take responsibility of the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist with personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
