Retail Assistant Manager - High Plainz Strains of Garden City

We are seeking a full-time Retail Assistant Manager at our High Plainz Strains of Garden City location.

General Info

This is a full-time role, typically 35+ hours per week across five shifts, with potential overtime. Open availability is required as the store operates daily from 8 AM to 12 AM, including holidays and weekends. The store is closed only on Christmas Day.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, shift management, and cash handling. Retail management experience and familiarity with the cannabis industry are highly desirable. We value a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, adaptability, and strict adherence to industry regulations and SOPs, along with high ethical standards due to product and cash responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

Starting pay is $19/hour plus tips.

Benefits include Health Insurance (Kaiser), Dental (Delta Dental), Vision (VSP), and Gap/Accident/Illness Insurance (Transamerica). We participate in the Colorado SecureSavings program. Paid Sick and Vacation time are accrued based on hours worked.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store activity, including managing breaks and lunches.
• Handle discounts and pricing issues within the POS system.
• Ensure the store is clean, organized, and ready for customers during shifts.
• Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash balancing.
• Address escalated customer service issues.
• Ensure compliance with MED rules at all times.
• Track cash movement and record tips accurately.

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous retail management experience is a plus.
• Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
• Ability to accurately count cash and coins.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills with customers and staff.
• Ability to motivate staff and delegate tasks effectively.
