6 Degrees Search is assisting a leading AmLaw firm in New York City to hire an Associate Attorney for the Restructuring & Special Situations Finance Practice Group. The role focuses on complex domestic and cross-border restructurings, distressed financings, and special situations transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will have 3–7 years of substantive experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and related areas, with a strong drafting and negotiation skillset and a proven

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing
• 3–7 years of substantive experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and/or special situations finance transactions
• Familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and liability management transactions
• Experience representing creditors, debtors, sponsors, or financial institutions in distressed scenarios
• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Large law firm experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, both in-court and out-of-court
• Advise creditors, debtors, and investors in distressed and special situations financings
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, restructuring support agreements, and related transaction documents
• Support liability management transactions, recapitalizations, and distressed M&A opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, corporate, and litigation attorneys

Candidate Profile

Competitive Salary: $235,000 – $390,000+, commensurate with experience and class year.
