Job description

Are you energetic, hardworking, and enjoy being part of a team? Join Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring people together to build decent, affordable homes and empower families through home ownership.

We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to work at our ReStore, a retail store that supports the mission by providing income to the organization. The Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in providing a positive experience for our donors and customers. This person is responsible for moving, assessing, and preparing the donated goods brought into the warehouse, and placing them onto the sales floor. Materials include everything from large appliances and furniture to delicate home decor and other small items. The Associate works as a member of a warehouse team, composed of paid and volunteer staff.

The ideal candidate will have these key responsibilities and capabilities:
  1. Evaluates and assesses condition of acceptable donated merchandise.
  2. Loads purchased merchandise into customer vehicles.
  3. Unloads donated items from donor vehicles.
  4. Assists in unloading donated items from incoming ReStore trucks.
  5. Processes incoming donations into warehouse.
  6. Operates forklift, loads and unloads truck, and moves warehouse merchandise and materials.
  7. Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  8. Must be certified to operate a forklift or willing to get certified.
  9. Able to stand or walk on concrete for up to four hours, squat, bend, and lift or move objects up to 100 pounds with proper tools.
  10. Possesses interpersonal skills, utilizes diplomacy and tact when interacting with customers, volunteers, and fellow staff members.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

  1. Pay Range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
  2. Benefits: Partial employer-paid health insurance through Kaiser, paid sick leave, and twelve paid holidays.
  3. Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation annually.
