Through working in the ReStore thrift shop, the SYO member will learn retail customer service, practice cross-cultural communication, as well as learn about recycling and how the ReStore serves the needs of lower income families that need access to affordable building materials and household goods and how the net profits are used to build homes for low income partner families. They will learn how Habitat for Humanity partners with other non-profit agencies offering people with developmental disabilities that opportunity to work or volunteer. They will learn to refer customers for services that the ReStore does not offer.

Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, Inc. is 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission to build homes, communities and hope. Since 1987, we have built and sold 70 homes to low-income families and served dozens of older adults homeowners with critical home repairs to help them ‘age in place. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have partnered with Wicomico County Planning and Zoning to offer rental and utility assistance to renters who are impacted financially due to the pandemic.
