Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Restorative Nurse Aide to deliver restorative nursing care in partnership with licensed nursing and rehabilitation therapy.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, care planning participation, and staff training in restorative techniques. The position requires a state-approved CNA program and minimum two years of CNA experience, with ongoing education to maintain certification.

Qualifications

• Must complete a state approved certified nursing assistant program.
• Two years' experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing philosophy and procedures.
• Attend a minimum of 12 hours continuing education for certification maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver restorative nursing care in collaboration with a licensed nurse and rehab therapy.
• Maintain accurate documentation for patients in the restorative program.
• Participate in patient care planning processes.
• Train direct care staff in restorative techniques and use of splints, braces, and assistive devices.
• Notify nursing/rehab if a patient’s functioning declines.

Responsibilities

The Restorative Nurse Aide, in collaboration with a licensed nurse and rehabilitation therapy, delivers restorative nursing care to prevent decline and to attain maximum functionality.

Position Highlights

• Maintain accurate restorative nursing progress documentation records on all patients participating in the restorative program.
• Participate in the patient care planning process.
• Train other direct care staff in restorative techniques, equipment, and the application of splints, braces, prosthetic appliances, and self-help devices to assure proper application and usage.
• Notify nursing and/or rehabilitation therapy of patients who may be experiencing a change in their level of functioning.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program is required.
• Two years' experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing philosophy and procedures is required.
• Must attend a minimum of 12 hours continuing education programs provided by the nursing center in order to maintain certification.
