Responsibilities

As a key member of the nursing team, you will provide restorative nursing techniques to those residents assigned to improve the resident’s quality of life through structured treatment modalities. Responsibilities include:

The following programs will be performed on all identified residents, including but not limited to:

  • Range of motion (passive/active)
  • General strengthening exercises
  • Ambulation and transfer training
  • ADL’s
  • Nursing whirlpools as assigned
  • Placement of restorative devices and equipment
  • Positioning
  • Restorative feeding program

Additionally, responsibilities include:

  • Documenting daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
  • Notifying restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
  • Reporting to the Director of Nursing and charting significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.
  • Reinforcing team management of B/B program and working with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
  • Attending meetings and in-services as required.
  • Serving as a resident advocate at all times and motivating others.
Qualifications
  • Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
  • Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
  • A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
