Job summary

Study Smart in Pomona, CA is seeking enthusiastic instructors, tutors, family facilitators, and educational consultants to support first‑gen students as they prepare for college and careers. You will lead restorative sessions, implement curriculum, and collaborate with school staff and counselors.

Requirements include a completed 4‑year degree and in‑person availability. Compensation is $45 per hour, with benefits such as a 401(k) plan and access to no-cost counseling resources.

Qualifications

• Must hold a completed 4-year degree.
• Graduate students in school counseling, social work, education, or related field are encouraged.
• Experience in school settings, preferably in counseling, SEL, or restorative justice practices.
• In-person availability is required.
• Background check may include fingerprinting based on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead Restorative Sessions: Facilitate restorative justice circles, discussions, and activities to develop conflict resolution skills and a supportive school environment.
• Curriculum Implementation: Adapt and implement restorative justice curriculum and materials to meet student and school needs.
• Student Support: Assess student needs through one-on-one and group interactions, guiding social-emotional growth and conflict resolution skills.
• Collaboration: Partner with Study Smart's Education team, school staff, educators, and counselors to provide restorative justice strategies tailored to each school community.
• Encourage Positive Behavior: Motivate and support students, helping them build self-awareness, empathy, and constructive communication skills.
