Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Restorative Justice Coordinator to lead schoolwide restorative practices, build capacity among staff, students, families, and administrators, and expand restorative justice across CPS.

The role reports to the principal and requires developing data-informed goals, designing training, and coordinating with community partners to foster safe, inclusive school environments. After-school availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; field preferred.
• Two years of training/experience in restorative justice and circle practice.
• Four years of direct experience in conflict mediation and positive youth development in schools.
• Ability to work after school and weekend hours.
• Experience building relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate restorative practices across universal, targeted, and intensive tiers with all school community stakeholders.
• Set up and maintain spaces for restorative work (e.g. Peace Room, classroom spaces).
• Provide training and coaching to build capacity in restorative justice mindset and skills.
• Model and co-facilitate practices in classrooms and staff meetings to build staff capacity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including parents and community through outreach and shared leadership.
• Develop students' restorative justice skills through Peer Conference and workshops.
• Participate in professional development and communities of practice.
