Are you an experienced CNA with a passion for helping others regain, improve, and maintain physical/functional well-being? Do you have experience as a rehab tech? At LCC-Merrimack Valley, we have a robust Fit for Life Program and are seeking a dynamic Restorative CNA to join our team in enhancing the functional quality of life for our residents.
Position: Per-diem, up to 16 hours a week.
Position Summary
The Restorative CNA performs patient-related restorative nursing functions as predetermined for each patient and assigned by the Restorative Nurse, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a State-approved CNA program
- Currently registered/licensed in the applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
- Completed restorative nursing training
- One (1) year of geriatric nursing experience preferred
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Specific Job Requirements
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility
- Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
- Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training
Essential Functions
- Lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients
- Assist patients with baths, showers, grooming, feeding, and toileting
- Accurately document and chart patient care
- Respond promptly to call lights
- Provide physician-ordered exercises to patients
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Use reasoning skills and good judgment during tasks
- Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking during work hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
