Job summary

Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy seeks a driven CNA to become our Restorative Care Aide (RCA). The RCA helps residents strengthen muscles, assist mobility, promote independence, and prevent functional decline, under supervision of a Staff Nurse.

The role emphasizes restorative nursing, ADL support, and accurate progress documentation in a long-term care setting, with competitive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Completed additional instruction and training in restorative care procedures with documentation.
• Experience in a Long Term Care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a driven and patient CNA to become our new Restorative Care Aide (RCA)! The RCA is responsible for providing care to a resident that is designed to strengthen muscles, assist with mobility, promote independence and prevent functional declines.

Responsibilities and Purpose

• Encourage the residents to perform tasks for themselves as appropriate and as assigned by the Staff Nurse and the residents’ overall plan of care.
• Practice good body mechanics while delivering restorative nursing care to prevent injuries to self or to others.
• Provide good body alignment, positioning devices and contractures padding.
• Monitor and assist with the performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote resident involvement to the highest extent possible.
• Evaluate and document the residents’ progress. Communicate results to the Staff Nurse and seek input and supervision from the Staff Nurse to confirm findings.
• Report to the Staff Nurse any adverse conditions experienced by the resident during the provision of restorative nursing care including, but not limited to, pain.

Desired Experience and Education

• Completed additional instruction and training in restorative care procedures with appropriate documentation as evidence of completion.
• Experience in a Long Term Care environment preferred.
