Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Restorative Aide in Pearland, TX to support restorative nursing and rehabilitative care. You will work closely with nursing staff to promote safety, independence, and quality care outcomes while helping with mobility, positioning, and daily activities.

Typical duties include documenting changes, updating care plans, and participating in meetings and trainings to improve patient well-being. English proficiency and a Nursing Assistant certification are required.

Qualifications

• Current state Nursing Assistant certification is required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to promote comfort and safety.
• Assist in restorative nursing and rehabilitative activities as directed.
• Support ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, and self-feeding.
• Encourage patient independence and functional ability.
• Update PCC on patient status and care observations daily.
• Contribute information to care plans and document changes.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition per procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and proper mobility assistance.
• Assist with therapy areas and rehabilitation equipment upkeep.
• Record monthly and weekly weight measurements.
• Attend rehabilitation and quality meetings and trainings.
• Serve as a team leader and uphold abuse prevention and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

The Restorative Aide assists with restorative nursing and rehabilitative care programs designed to support patient mobility, functional independence, and overall well-being. This role provides direct patient care, supports rehabilitation activities, implements restorative care interventions, and contributes to individualized care plans. The Restorative (Rehabilitative) Aide works closely with nursing staff to promote patient safety, maintain functional abilities, and support quality care outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services in a manner that promotes patient comfort, safety, and well-being.
• Assist in restorative nursing and rehabilitative care activities as directed.
• Perform restorative care interventions including ambulation assistance, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, self-feeding support, and related activities within the scope of training.
• Promote and support the highest possible level of patient independence and functional ability.
• Communicate patient status updates and care observations to the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) daily.
• Contribute patient condition information and care needs observations to the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow established procedures for safe lifting, transfers, and patient mobility assistance.
• Assist with the care, maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality of therapy areas and rehabilitation equipment.
• Monitor and record assigned monthly and weekly weight measurements.
• Attend rehabilitation meetings, quality assurance meetings, in-service training programs, and Patient Care Management Systems education sessions.
• Serve as a team leader and role model while supporting abuse prevention requirements and resident safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
