Job summary

Lightspeed Restoration in Austin, TX is seeking dedicated Technicians for mold remediation and water damage mitigation. You will set up containment, remove materials, vacate, and apply treatments while maintaining high safety and documentation standards.

The role emphasizes detailed procedures, physical work, and long-term career growth, with training and certifications supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented approach to mold remediation and restoration work.

• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for photos and job documentation.

Responsibilities

• Mold Remediation: set up and maintain negative-pressure containment per IICRC S520.
• Carefully remove and bag affected materials; HEPA vacuum and detail-clean surfaces; apply antimicrobials and encapsulants.
• Operate air filtration devices and maintain containment from start to finish.
• Prepare areas to pass post-remediation verification the first time.
• Water Damage Mitigation: extract water; set up dehumidifiers, air movers, and air scrubbers.
• Take moisture readings and document drying progress.
• Perform controlled demolition: carpet, pad, baseboards, drywall, and trim.
• On every job: take thorough photos and notes; treat customers and homes with respect; keep sites clean and safe; use PPE and respirators.

What You’ll Do

Mold Remediation (a large share of our work)

On Every Job

Requirements

• Clean background check


• Clean driving record and a valid Texas driver’s license


• Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality


• Ability to follow detailed procedures exactly


• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for photos and job documentation


• Ability to lift 75 lbs, work in attics and crawl spaces, and wear a respirator and Tyvek for extended periods

Nice to Have

• Texas Mold Remediation Worker license


• Experience in restoration, remediation, construction, or detailed cleaning work


• IICRC WRT or AMRT certification


• Bilingual English/Spanish
