Job description

Restoration 1 of Central Houston (company, specializing in water damage restoration, mold removal, mold remediation, as well as fire damage repair and smoke damage restoration), actively seeking someone looking for an entry position to learn and develop the trade of Water Restoration Technician. Job will be hands on. We respond 24 hours a day to emergencies and perform all phases of restoration, from cleanup, mold mitigation and water restoration.

Competitive Pay Rates with Overtime Opportunities and Incentives! Must we willing and able to work a ROTATING VARIABLE EMERGENCY CALL SCHEDULE, including overtime and weekend hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicate with home/business owners to secure service contracts.
• Assist w/ job site inspections, determine scope of the work to be performed (water, fire, mold, etc.).
• Remove and dispose of non-salvageable items.
• Conduct demolition on damaged materials.
• Set up drying equipment.
• Prepare documentation pertaining to the loss: contracts, pictures, sketching, daily reports.
• Document work in project management and moisture mapping software programs.
• Move drying equipment and other items from job site to warehouse as necessary or required.
• Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle along with clean equipment
• Leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
• Communicate with management to report project status, updates, issues or concerns.
• Perform general construction/repair work as needed: install and tape drywall; paint and seal; carpentry; carpet & pad installation; baseboard installation.

Necessary Experience and Skill Set:
• High school diploma/GED
• Must be a team player
• Must be polite and have strong work ethic
• Possess excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must be available 24/7 on call rotation.
• Must have clean driving record and valid license
• Ability to lift 50 LBS (100 LBS Team Lift)
• Ability to climb ladders and work overhead at varying heights.
• Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., containment, crawls spaces / Attic)
• Ability to work with/around cleaning products/chemicals
• Working in challenging environments with varying temperatures.

Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
