Job summary

SERVPRO of Vacaville / Dixon is seeking a motivated handyman/restoration technician to respond to emergency damage including water and fire restoration. You will load and prepare equipment, work with teams, and communicate with clients throughout the project.

Ideal candidates have handyman or construction experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation ranges from $15 to $17 per hour with paid training and uniforms provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous restoration, construction, or related field experience preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including water extraction, fire damages, and equipment setup.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment and tool requirements with supervisors.
• Maintain open communication with clients, addressing concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying, and site cleanup.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
