Job Summary

The Restoration Technician is responsible for working as part of a team to perform emergency services and contents restoration work while adhering to company policies and procedures regarding remediation. The individual will also adhere to EPA, OSHA, and local requirements regarding safety and hazardous materials handling. The individual must be available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform content restoration work on residential and commercial properties
• Perform physical labor related to cleanup activities, packing customers' contents, general cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and deodorization
• Assist with inventory of site contents, setup of emergency equipment, and preparing contents for storage
• Follow safety rules, regulations, and policies, and wear protective gear
• Operate tools and equipment routinely used in restoration work
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment
• Maintain warehouse and stock supplies
• Work at heights from ladders and scaffolding
• Handle hazardous waste operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Technical Skills

Ability to perform basic math operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Communication Skills

Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and write reports, as well as communicate effectively with groups.

Work Environment

Work involves equipment operation in dusty, noisy, and potentially hazardous conditions, often outdoors and in extreme weather. Travel is frequent. Accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands

Must be in good health, able to wear respirators, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of construction experience, especially in water/fire damage and hazardous waste

Certifications

• Valid environmental physical for respirator use
• OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER
• Current State Driver's license
• Forklift operator certification

Additional Qualifications

• Construction industry experience preferred
• IICRC Water Restoration certification a plus
• Heavy equipment operation experience a plus
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, good communication skills, and safety commitment
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish encouraged but not required
