Job summary

SERVPRO Franchise is seeking a dedicated restoration technician to join our emergency response team in Austin, TX. You will help restore homes and businesses after water and fire damage, performing cleanup and restoration tasks. Ideal candidates have handyman or construction experience, enjoy teamwork, and are motivated to learn a new skill.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in restoration or construction preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water and fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities (water extraction, fire damages, equipment setup, demolition).
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools and supplies for each project.
• Communicate safety hazards and requirements to the worksite team and supervisors.
• Maintain open communication with clients, addressing concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks (water extraction, drying, site cleanup).

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean‑up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on‑call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
